Information we process

Website visits: Server and security logs, device/browser information, and website analytics as described below.
Messages: if you contact us, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address and message.
Affiliate links: following a retailer link may allow the retailer or affiliate network to process referral information.

Website analytics

We use Independent Analytics to understand how visitors use TrueCosts and to improve our pages. It measures page views, visits, referring websites, browser and device information, and approximate geographic location.

Independent Analytics does not use analytics cookies. It processes your IP address and browser information to create a hashed visitor identifier. We have configured the identifier’s salt to refresh daily, limiting recognition of repeat visitors across days. The plugin does not store your raw IP address in its analytics database. Our hosting provider may separately process IP addresses in server and security logs.

Analytics records are stored in our website’s WordPress database on our hosting server, rather than sent to Google Analytics or the analytics plugin provider. Google Analytics tracking has been removed from this website.

Cookies and external websites

Our analytics service is cookieless. WordPress may use cookies for login and administration. If you follow an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may use its own cookies and process referral information under its own privacy and cookie policies.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal data, restrict or object to processing, and receive a copy in a portable format.
